Tarsian & Blinkley is a bridge between worlds that rarely collide – socially conscious clothing and accessories that feed the fashionista's appetite.
In a unique twisting of the Oriental with the Occidental, handloomed silks, cottons, and woolens are beaded, embroidered, crocheted, and stitched in Afghanistan to create rich but highly wearable pieces. We like to think of it as conscientiously chic.
What makes Tarsian & Blinkley exceptionally unique is the collaborative process in which it engages its female handiworkers. We do not etch the embroidery designs on every product, but in many instances, encourage the women to come up with their own embroidery, beading, sequinwork, or crochet designs based on our general 'art direction'. The results are wonderful, often one-of-a-kind pieces exhibiting a wide breadth of character and originality.
